The Consulate General of Japan in New York encourages local organizations and individuals to become a part of this landmark year by using the "Japan-NYC 1860-2010: A Heritage of Friendship" logo (designed by artist Shu Kubo, a 2009 Special Advisor for Cultural Exchange), featured in this page below, on their websites and event materials. Mr. Kubo's wonderful logo, inspired by the first meeting between samurai and New Yorkers 150 years ago, reminds us of the importance of the Japan-US friendship.
