The Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays to former Detective of City of New York Police Department, Mr. John Ptacek was held on July 12th, 2018 at the official residence of the Consul General of Japan in New York.

This decoration is for his many outstanding contributions to promoting cooperation between Japan and the United States in the field of security, especially in terms of counter-terrorism efforts.
