Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi visited the New York City Police Department Headquarters on November 26th. He met Police Commissioner James O'Neill and expressed gratitude for the NYPD's continuing efforts to ensure the safety of Japanese citizens, companies and facilities in New York City. They also discussed issues such as public safety and the NYPD’s latest crime countermeasures. The NYPD is the largest police organization in the United States, tasked with maintaining the safety of this major metropolitan city. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with them.

１１月２６日、山野内大使は、当地に居住する邦人や当地の日本企業、公館に対する日頃からの安全対策に感謝の意を込めて、ニューヨーク市警察本部（ＮＹＰＤ）のジェームス・オニール本部長を表敬訪問し、治安情勢などについて意見交換いたしました。 ＮＹＰＤは、全米で最も大きな警察組織で、経済や文化の中枢であるニューヨーク市の治安を担う重要な機関であり、今後も連携を深めてまいります。
