
Japan’s Foreign Policy through a
"Panoramic Perspective of the World Map"

The security environment in the Asia-Pacific Region has come under ever increasing strain in recent years. On February 3rd the Japan Society will host Mr. Shinsuke Sugiyama, Japan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, who will provide an overview of Japan’s foreign policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
His lecture will highlight how Japan has pursued a policy of strategic diplomacy with countries such as China, Australia, India, the Republic of Korea, North Korea, and ASEAN with the goal of proactively contributing to the peace and stability of the region. The lecture will be held at 12:00 PM and the moderator will be Mr. Bret Stephens, Deputy Editor, Editorial Page, The Wall Street Journal.
