Exhibition Summary:
In this exhibition, Ms. White presents a series of paintings which have been influenced by two different cultures. Her experiences in Tokyo and New York allow her to create abstract artworks that reveal differences and similarities between Tokyo and New York, Japan and America, Eastern Art and Western Art. This exhibition explores the boundary between those seemingly contrary art styles of the East and the West, based on a comparative observation of Japanese and American cultures.

Ms. White's artwork is mainly comprised of two series of paintings: "Flow" and "Intermingling." "Flow" was inspired by the flow of water, which in Japan represents a ceaseless continuation of transient changes. Also on display will be other works influenced by Japanese scenery, Tokyo street life, as well as the belief in animism, which has become deeply-rooted in Japan.

On the other hand, "Intermingling" visualizes the liveliness and youthfulness of New York, created by the fusion of its residents from various backgrounds. Additional works inspired by the scenery of New York and other parts of the U.S. will be presented too.
