Consulate General of Japan in New York Accepting Donations

In response to the outpouring of kind offers and requests to help victims of the disasters in Japan, the Consulate General of Japan in New York has begun accepting financial donations. All funds received by the Consulate General will be forwarded to relevant organizations that are assisting the affected population of the recent earthquake and tsunami. (No overhead costs will be deducted by the Consulate General of Japan).
Cash or check contributions will be accepted at the Consulate General of Japan's 18th floor office during normal operating hours(Monday - Friday 9:30 - 16:00). If you wish to make a donation during non-business hours, please contact the Consulate General (Tel: 212-371-8222).
We accept funds in US dollars.
