Book of Condolences for Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

We regret to announce the passing of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on July 8^th, 2022 in Japan.
The Consulate-General of Japan in New York will open condolence book for all those who would like to express their sympathies and honor his memory. The book will be open Monday, July 11^th and Tuesday, July 12^th from 9:30am to 3:00pm at Japan Information Center Gallery located at 18th Floor, 299 Park Avenue.

• Pre-registration is not required to sign a book of condolences. Please present your ID at the reception. There may be some wait time at the lobby.
• All visitors must go through a security check to enter.
• Please wear a mask in the building.
• We cannot accept any other request other than signing of a book of condolences (visa application etc.) unless you have an appointment.
• Please kindly be advised that we cannot accept any gift for condolences.
