ICP is honored to present Japan / A Love Story, an exhibition presented by
Nikkei, the Financial Times and Peter Fetterman Gallery. Spanning nearly forty
years, Michael Kennaʼs photographic journey in Japan unfolds as a profound
narrative of devotion, stillness and reverence, revealing the essence of place
beyond mere documentation. His minimalist, meditative black-and-white
images invite viewers to slow down, listen and connect with the poetic
tranquility of temples, forests and remote landscapes.

In conjunction with Asia Week New York this September, Joan B. Mirviss LTD is thrilled to announce Collapse / Rebirth II, the second conjoint solo exhibition by renowned female ceramists, Fujino Sachiko (b. 1950) and Futamura Yoshimi (b. 1959). While each artist creates works that balance organic spontaneity with deliberate control, their approaches could not be more distinct.

Nov 22 Ishikawa & Japanese Culture Promotion Project in New York

Midtown Flexible Studio Space 364 7th Ave, New York
This event introduces Japanese traditional culture, music, and the appeal of Ishikawa Prefecture, including its recovery after the recent earthquake.
We’ll feature live performances of Japanese songs, anime themes, and American classics, including improvisation during the calligraphy show.
Workshops will offer Go and Shogi experiences through demos and hands-on play.
A large-brush calligraphy performance will follow, with audience participation if time allows.

Peelander-Z is a Japanese action comic punk band known for their high-energy, theatrical live shows and colorful, anime-inspired costumes. The band, originally formed in New York City in 1998, is now based in Austin, Texas. They claim to be from the "Z area of Planet Peelander" and incorporate elements of pro wrestling, Japanese pop culture, and sci-fi into their performances.
