Voyages and Images     Japan Through Art Teachers’ Eyes

November 15, 2007

Artwork from participants of the November 2006 Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program

The gallery at the Consulate General of Japan in New York will be hosting an exhibition of works based on Japan by American elementary and secondary school art teachers called “Voyages and Images: Japan Through Art Teachers’ Eyes.” The duration of the exhibition will be from Monday, November 19th to Friday, December 14th, 2007.

Fifteen art teachers from across the United States have created forty artworks through various mediums, which were inspired by their three-week teacher program in Japan last fall. The program (http://www.fulbright.jp/eng/jfmf/index.html) is held every year and the participants are selected from American elementary and secondary school teachers with no prior visit to Japan.
