An Exhibition of Nature-inspired Paintings at Consulate of Japan NY

February 27, 2009

Terra Incognita(Realm of Unknown), by three abstract artists, will appear from March 3rd to March 30th. The collection of works by the artists, Noriko Yano, Koji Moriya, and Tom Moran, is an exhibition of nature-inspired monoprints、drawings and paintings. Using three techniques and concentrating on descriptions of nature, Terra Incognita examines nature from different perspectives.

Ms. Yano's work reminds of us of the dynamic and grandeur of the planet on which we live. In contrast, Mr. Moriya's drawings show us the smallness of our existence in comparison to nature. Mr. Moran‘s work evolve from the connection between patterns in nature and patterns in human behavior.
