In April, Ambassador Reiichiro Takahashi met U.S. Senator Joe Manchin and Governor Earl Ray Tomblin of the State of West Virginia. They exchanged views on a variety of topics, including Japan-U.S. trade and investment, Japan-West Virginia economic relations, and prospects for shale gas in West Virginia. Both sides agreed to make further efforts to strengthen the relations.
