2. Overview of Achievements:
Mr. Peter Sears had served as a co-chairman of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) since 1998. JASGP was established in 1994 to bring the people of Japan and the United States closer together in understanding, appreciation and cooperation by promoting and encouraging a better understanding of the business, cultural, social, educational and political practices and customs of Japan and the U.S. Philadelphia Cherry Blossom Festival is held by JASGP in the months of March and April to enjoy various Japanese culture. He is co-chairman of the annual U.S.-Japan Health Sciences Dialogue, two day seminar aiming to enhance awareness of healthcare and life science issues and opportunities that exist in Japan and the U.S. by facilitating communication among industry, government and academic groups from both countries. Through his outstanding contribution, JASGP has made possible to have these kinds of events.

In addition to his JASGP activities, he worked as General Manager of Japan and Korea operations in SmithKline. He also served eight years as Chairman of the University City Science Center in Philadelphia and he has worked with Osaka Gas Corporation to help establish Kyoto Research Park.
