SHIRANE, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Call at New York City

Consulate General of Japan is happy to announce that SHIRANE, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force calls at New York City (Brooklyn Marine Terminal, Pier 7 South) to join Fleet Week New York (FWNY).
Fleet Week New York is the City's annual celebration of the sea services. This year, tall ships and warships from 11 countries, including Japan, are invited to celebrate the bi-centennial of the WAR of 1812. Please find more details about FWNY at the web site (http://www.fleetweeknewyork.com/).

    SHIRANE would like to welcome group visits from May 24 to May 29. Please contact to Consul TAKEUCHI at Consulate General of Japan in advance. (Contact information is bellow.)
  • Notice
    SHIRANE has slippery floors and steep stairways. Women should avoid wearing skirts and high heels while on board the ship. Also, Pier 7 South where SHIRANE is berthed is usually not open to the public. Please find the times and the directions for general public visits on the Fleet Week New York web site.
