When the recent earthquake and tsunami devastated Northeastern Japan, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York (JCCI) received a touching reminder of the bond that their U.S. Educators Program has created between hundreds of local educators and Japan. Many of the former participants from the program’s 22 years have been taking it upon themselves to organize grassroots fundraising campaigns in their schools, districts and communities to raise funds for Japan disaster relief.
In response to the massive earthquake and tsunami that recently devastated northeastern Japan, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, Inc., in cooperation with The Nippon Club, has established the 2011 Northeastern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund to aid the victims of the disaster through the J.C.C. Fund, the Chamber’s 501(c)3 not-for-profit philanthropic vehicle. For more details, please visit: www.jcciny.org/
