The Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania (JASP) is the region's premiere organization, promoting Japan-related educational, business and arts activities. It continues to deepen the understanding and friendly relations between Japan and the U.S., and has done so for almost 30 years.

High School Japanese Speech Contest organized by JASP, and supported by the Consulate General of Japan in New York, is a major event which showcases the various level of Japanese language education in the area. This contest motivates students to learn not only the Japanese language but about Japan's culture as well.
