Japan has a distinctive bathroom culture. Bathing is a daily ritual In Japan. It means a time for families to come together, with parents bathing their children. Traditions may not change, but the design of the Japanese bathroom continues to evolve. Japanese toilet stools are changing form and Washlets, Japanese-style automated toilets,can be found in more than 70% of Japanese homes. Ms.Hashida´s exhibition introduces the aesthetics of the Japanese bathroom and her own unique designs.
Noriko Hashida is a Product Designer who graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Art ' s Design Dept. with Industrial Design as her specialty. She has designed toilet stools,kitchens,bathrooms and faucets at TOTO co,Ltd. In 2008, she established NORIKO HASHIDA DESIGN and designs furniture and housewares. Ms.Hashida is also a Professor at Shibaura Institute of Technology in its Department of Engineering and Design.
